Positive Thinking

So, for those of you who know me, I grew up in a pretty small town/area.  So when my we found out that we were moving to the Vegas area last year for John's new job, I was both excited and a little nervous.  Sin City is a fun place to visit ( in my opinion, John just hates it all around ) but I was a little nervous about living here.  We couldn't be too picky about where we went either, with the economy the way it is/was ya gotta go where the job is.  So we decided it would be a good chance for us to be away from family and start our own thing.  I was pretty excited.  And it has been great, except since we've been here. . . I have come to dislike, HATE Vegas!!!  Luckily we live in a little town about 30 minutes south east of Vegas, but we still find ourselves having to drive into town for some shopping, doctors appts., dentist appts., etc.  I loathe having to go into town ( unless it is to go on a "fun shopping day" at all of the shopping outlets )  Vegas drivers are not too friendly and I'm always praying that I make it home alive.  In my attempt to be a positive person, I have tried to come up with a list of things that I really do like about living in this area.  It's a short list, but a list nonetheless.
1. I LOVE THE WEATHER!!!  For the first year of my life, I wasn't snowed in on my birthday, but was actually out in the sunshine and LOVING every minute of it!!!!  I like the snow, but after about a month, I just want it gone, so the desert weather has been nice ( excluding the 120 degree weather that we had this summer for a couple weeks, KILL ME!!!!! )
2.  Like I mentioned before, the shopping down here is awesome!  They have almost any story you can think of and you can usually find some good deals if you are a good bargain shopper ( which I am )
3.  The Vaught's and The Dearden's.  Our bestest pals down here in Vegas have made it a lot of fun!  They both have little boys who aren't too much older than Cora, so she has friends that she can play with.  And we get to chill/hangout with them and just have a grand old time!  I will miss them THE MOST when we move :(
4.  The only other thing I like about Vegas is that we will be leaving it before it gets bloomin hot again :) hee hee!
We are moving to a more nothern town that won't be so dang hot and is A LOT smaller!  I will definitely miss the convenience of all of the shopping, but am excited to start a new adventure with my two sweetheart's!!!  I'll talk a little bit more about where we are moving in the future.  For now I just wanna vent to you all about this ................... place!!!

NO THANKS :)

Where does time go ???

I don't know why, but I swear ever since I had Cora, time has gone by 10 times faster!  I'm sure other moms can relate!  I have had so many things I've wanted to blog about in the past few months, but never find time.  I'm going to make it a goal to take time and blog at least once a week AT LEAST!  I eventually would like to print it out and have it as a book (I've heard of people doing that ....)  Anyways, this post is just going to be an update of pictures and my sweet little gal and how much she has grown up!!!! Hopefully I can get all of my numbers straight :)

6 MONTHS
She was so close to crawling when she turned 6 months, but didn't quite have it down.  She did have a cute little way of getting up on her feet and hands to do what we called her "baby yoga".
She did this ALL DAY LONG for a couple of weeks!
7 MONTHS
She finally decided to crawl over Thanksgiving weekend while we were in Colorado at my parents house.  She just needed an audience I guess.  She hasn't stopped going and going since!
8 MONTHS
Cora was soooo spoiled at Christmas time (and so were John and I).  Gramma and Grampa Jenkins got her this GIANT bear!!!  She is sooooo in love!!!
9 MONTHS
Here she is standing all by herself!!!!  AHHHHHH!!!!!  A lot has happened in the past month or so for her.  She is trying/loving a lot of new foods!!!!  She can stand on her own, and a few nights ago took her first steps.  She is becoming more and more brave, which scares the crap outta me, but I am so excited to see her learning all these new fun things.  She loves to make faces, click her tongue and take baths in the sink :)  Oh and how could I forget, she got her first two teeth too!  Big month for little Cora girl!!!
I LOVE HER... just a little ;)
