Is Vegas ready for us???? : )

We are here!!!  We have been here for. . . almost a week, and it has been great so far!  We've got most of our stuff moved in and put away.  John isn't as busy as he would like, but is still busy getting things ready for Police Academy.  I am very busy, baking a baby.  I can stand to be up and moving around for about 30 minutes before I feel like I need a 2 hour nap. . . so I'm not getting tons done, but things are getting done none the less.

We were very lucky to have my parents and brothers come down to help us move in.  We got everything moved in fast enough that we could spend a whole day just exploring our new little town and having fun.  We went and ate our hearts out at a buffet then went and walked off all the calories at Hoover Dam : ) It was a lot of fun.

John and I did get a chance to go hang out at the Lake (Mead) earlier in the week.  We were excited to get some sun.  The weather is sooooo nice down here right now, and we are taking advantage before it gets way too hot to be outside.

We had an appointment with my new doctor the Friday we got here and he is very nice!  He says from what he saw on the ultrasound, baby is bigger than average.  Baby's head is already measuring more than 9 cm's : /  I will be having a measurement ultrasound on Monday and the doc will be able to give us a better estimate of how much the baby weighs and stuff.  He also said he is kind of concerned about how far away we live from the hospital so he said if I am dilated at all at week 38, he is going to induce me at week 39, and if Baby is on track to be a 9 or 10 pound baby, he is going to induce me 10 days early.  We originally didn't want to be induced at all, but with the timing of everything, it would be really good if Baby could/does come early.  We are soooooo excited and can't believe that Baby is going to be here so soon!!!!  YAY!!!!!!!!!

36 Weeks. . . aaaahhhhhhhh Baby is almost here : )

The Past Few Weeks

A lot has happened in the past few weeks.  John had arthroscopic surgery on his knee to have his meniscus "cleaned up".  He tore it playing basketball and wanted to get it taken care of before he starts his intense training at Police Academy.  He has been doing physical therapy and is healing really well.  Since he had to have that done, he has been out work for a few weeks.  His work didn't want him to come back until the doc said he could do 100% of everything he was doing before the surgery; so we have had a lot of extra time to spend together, which is great because once we get to Nevada we probably won't see each other very much.

I have had two baby showers.  Both were great and I am so grateful for everyone who came and helped us out. We have had so much support with our move and with baby coming, I feel so blessed for all of the great people that Heavenly Father has put in our lives.

My first shower was thrown by my Aunt Kambria and my Mum.  They did such a cute job!  Not knowing the sex of our baby made it a little harder for people to get gifts and stuff, but everyone was pretty excited that we haven't found out at the same time.  Mom and Kambria came up with a way cute theme for the shower too!  I loved it!!!  And getting a chance to see all of my family and friends was so much fun!

My other shower was thrown by my two best buddies from High School, Dayna and Shannon!  It was soooo cute and so fun to see all of my friends!!!  Again, I can't believe how blessed we are.  I thank Heavenly Father every day for how much he blesses us!

Everyone got to guess what our lil baby is going to be. . . EVERYONE guessed boy!!!  I didn't put them up to it either.  It'll be really funny when I have to show this post to my little girl. . . LOL!

So. . . along with all of that we have been packing, packing and packing and we are about done!!!!  Off to Nevada we go. . . only 3 days left!!!  We are so excited and can't wait to start our new adventure!!!!

Baby Update

32 Weeks. . . and counting. . .

We are almost there : ) We had our 32 week visit at the doctors this week and everything is looking good.  Even tho I don't feel too huge, doctor says the baby is growing just fine.  I am kind of sad that we won't be delivering with the doctor that we've had the whole time, I love her (Dr. Ann Blackett) but I'm just very thankful that the baby is doing good and that I've had a good/healthy pregnancy so far.  As of right now, I don't know how big baby is but the doctor says that everything is looking like it's on time.  My Aunt and Mom are throwing a shower for me this week, and I'm pretty excited, mostly to see lot's of people and some old friends.  It will most likely be the last time I see a lot of them for a while, so it is going to be kind of a bittersweet day.

32 Week Bump

MOVING TO NEVADA : )

WELL, IT'S OFFICIAL!!!!  We are moving to Nevada at the end of the month.  John got a job as a Game Warden for the State of Nevada and will be patrolling Lake Mead.  We will be living in Boulder City, a cute little town about 20 minutes south of Las Vegas.  We took a trip down last weekend to find an apartment, and it was a SUCCESS!!!!  It is going to be a very crazy time for us to be moving, but we couldn't be more excited and happy about it!  I will be 36 weeks pregnant when we get down there and are getting settled.  John starts his Police Academy on April 30th, and our little babe is due May 2nd aaaahhhhh!!!!  Pretty crazy, but we are prepared to roll with the punches and we know that Heavenly Father is going to help us through anything that comes in our path!  Thanks to everyone who has supported us and prayed for us in the past few months.  John is so excited to be starting his dream job this year and I am so excited to be moving to a warmer climate : )  (it does get pretty dang hot down there, but don't worry, we've got a pool at our apartment, AC and we're 5 minutes away from Lake Mead and we will be playing down there A LOT)  And we both, of course, are VERY excited for our little addition to be getting here!  We can't wait to have him/her here with us!
